I 100 film più belli del ventunesimo secolo

Bbc Culture ha domandato a centosettantasette critici cinematografici provenienti da trentasei Paesi quali sono, secondo loro, i dieci film che hanno lasciato il segno nel Ventunesimo secolo, dal primo anno del nuovo millennio a quello corrente. I 599 film segnalati sono poi stati organizzati in una top 100 che vede al primo posto Mulholland Drive, il lungometraggio di David Lynch, uscito nelle sale nel 2001.

Il film di Lynch, uno dei più apprezzati dai fan della produzione dell’autore, era originariamente nato come una serie tv divisa in sei episodi, e solo dopo era diventato ciò che sul Guardian Peter Bradshaw aveva definito «inquietante, affascinante e meravigliosamente indulgente con sé stesso».

A seguire, sul podio troviamo In the Mood for Love, dramma sentimentale del regista cinese Wong Kar-wai (ha debuttato al cinema nel 2000), Il petroliere di Paul Thomas Anderson (2007), La città incantata di Hayao Miyazaki (2001) e l’originale Boyhood di Richard Linklater (2014).

I registi più premiati dalla classifica, ognuno con tre film inseriti nella top 100, sono Wes Anderson, il tailandese Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Christopher Nolan, Michael Haneke, Paul Thomas Anderson e i fratelli Coen. L’anno più rappresentato è invece il 2012, con 10 film, tra i quali The Act of Killing e Holy Motors.

Il responsabile di Bbc Culture Matthew Anderson ha affermato che spesso i sondaggi di questo tipo guardano al passato, ma «noi volevamo scoprire quali fossero le produzioni migliori della memoria recente. Questi sono i film a cui le persone si sentono emotivamente più legate».
